Sadly, we only got one blurry phone photo of this handsome visitor, but a young elk snuck up on us in the yard the other day!
He made short work of the raggedy branches of the apple and Asian pear trees and then went on to decimate our European plum tree. But he was majestic to watch.
It’s a good thing we keep our garden so close to the house, I imagine that elk could have done a lot of damage to our crops. I certainly don’t mind that he helped himself to the fruit trees, though.
I love getting to observe all of the wildlife in their natural habitat right from our property. It feels like we live close to a preserve some days.
