The wonderful thing about living on a farm is discovering all of the native plants that grow without being coaxed. Just by exploring our property, I came across this plantain plant, which is highly accessible even in very poor soil (think GRAVEL) and has abundant healing properties and medicinal uses! Next time I get stung by a bee, I’m chewing one of the leaves to make a poultice.
This delicate clover-like plant was all over the farm, too! I’m not sure what it is, but it’s beautiful.
There are many other medicinal gifts that grow naturally in places I haven’t looked or just haven’t discovered yet. I love getting to hunt for new treasures every spring.
