The indoor starts start…

Another year, another set of trays full of little seed-starting pods…

A large tray of indoor seedling starts in soil.

This year I’m reducing the number of extras I’m growing, since some of our neighbor friends moved back to California this year and they were the recipients of most of my excess starts. (Sad day! I’m bummed not to benefit from their very different microclimate.)

But I’m still doing a lot of stuff this year: a tray of greens (like Chinese broccoli, cauliflower, kale, chard, and more), a tray of peppers and eggplants, a tray of herbs, a tray of tomatoes and tomatillos, and a small tray of melons and cucumbers.

Two trays of young plants growing indoors.

OK… sooo… maybe I’m not doing much less. When I trimmed them down, I turned the thinned seedlings into a tasty microgreen salad for myself!

A white bowl filled with fresh microgreens.
