Peace in a mug

I’m one of those “headaches on a schedule so regular you could chart them” people. Usually, I manage it with some chocolate chips and a nap, but sometimes even the sleep doesn’t get rid of it. Last night was one of those nights.

Luckily for me, my lavender plant is still putting out fresh blossoms every day. I went out into the dark with my headlamp and gathered enough for a nice cuppa.

Lush purple!

I let the water cool off, then steeped it for four minutes. It was the gorgeous blue in the featured photo before I dropped in a dried lemon slice and a touch of honey (the lemon turned it a gorgeous third color, a light shade of pink).

The drink was the perfect cure. I was able to enjoy the rest of my evening and slept like a cat.

It’s just so warming to be able to harvest such a nourishing ingredient in my own yard. I’m grateful.
