I’m still starter-sitting for my sister, and I end up with a lot of excess sourdough discard every weekend. I’ve gotten very creative with using it so it doesn’t go to waste — this weekend I made the flakiest buttermilk biscuits I’ve ever eaten, and they were delicious!
My sister will be claiming her sourdough starter in just a few days, but in the meantime I’ll keep finding ways to use the discard to make yummy recipes.
In fact, my sister has asked that I experiment with sourdough waffles and perfect the recipe so she can have some next time she visits! If only I could find an affordable cast iron wafflemaker…
