    Warm wood of summer

    By Kat / January 7, 2024
    A hand-made, live-edge wooden table.

J got a lot done in the woodshop this season, and I helped by moving pieces around when one person simply couldn’t (he likes to work with large pieces of wood). We now have several gorgeous, finished worktables and an outdoor workspace/dining area, plus this beautiful cheese platter for sale.

    A winter harvest

    By Kat / January 4, 2024
A pink tray full of microgreens.

In the gloom and cold, I find myself missing the dirt and the growing things. It took a few tries and a higher-priced starter kit, but I finally figured out how to use microgreens. By Kat / December 20, 2023
An assortment of freshly harvested leafy greens.

    Green ketchup — what’s that?!

    By Kat / November 16, 2023
A large bowl full of green tomatoes.

This year, I canned and fermented all kinds of things for J and myself, as well as to share with friends and family as gifts for the holidays. One of the things I made was green ketchup, and you may be wondering what that is (and if it has anything to do with green eggs and ham)! Surprisingly, green ketchup…
