Batman is low on the ladder in the herd, and he’s often ignored or even bullied by the other animals, but he has a heart of gold. He’s one of the first to greet the kids at the school bus stop and he always lets the other goats eat the good stuff we toss them.
Batman follows Bramble around like Velcro, getting jealous when Bramble and Billie get their snuggle on. Sometimes, when I check on the herd at night, I find him in the second stall by himself. I think he’s just kind of an introvert.
He’s very sweet with humans and the dog, whom Batman loves to greet by smashing the crown of his head against the fence. He’s definitely a supporting character in our hard, whose theme is that it’s not about being on top but about being kind and loving to others.
