Christmas in October

I made a lot of my Christmas gifts this year for friends and family, and so I started in October when my harvests were ready and abundant.

I made tomatillo sauce, green ketchup, and tea blends with some of my herbs.

Two containers full of freshly harvested tomatoes.

I tried to make some fermented hot sauce… but to be honest I ate it all! Sorry to my family (though some of them didn’t want it anyway haha).

Canning and fermenting several months before the holidays has been a great way to not feel rushed when it’s time to figure out gifts for everyone — it’s sustainable, delicious, and very rewarding to spoil your loved ones with homegrown and homemade foods!
