I’m lucky to have J around to do most of the outdoor labor, which he does while I’m staring at a screen for work. But when I take a few days off, I try to pitch in.
This time we cleaned up two years’ worth of fallen and trimmed branches around the pasture and took them down to the neighbor’s burn pile.
There is always something to work on or clean up around here, but maintaining and working on the land is such a rewarding experience, I try to not take these simple chores for granted! The change of pace from my shoulder-numbing day job is welcome and necessary.
