I planted seven pepper plants this weekend and started hardening off the tomatoes, so the greenhouse is becoming very crowded.
J and I have been brainstorming different ways to expand the greenhouse and make more room for plants this year and next. One option we’ve looked into is utilizing a green stalk, where layers of plants are stacked on top of each other to utilize vertical space.
Another idea we are considering is using hooks to hang pots to maximize the space in the greenhouse. My only fear is that this cheap model keeps coming apart with the wind, and hanging pots might come flying down.
I’m definitely not ready to spend $4-8k on a real greenhouse though, nor do all that labor myself! So it remains to be seen how we’ll manage the greenhouse space going forward.
