I checked my pepper starts and saw that they were shoving their way out of the planter pods… all 60-something of the ones who survived the initial planting. YIKES. I absolutely don’t have room for that many pepper plants, so I potted them up and gave them away to neighbors and family members.
This week, the tomatoes are eager for their turn, pushing creepy white roots right out of the tiny pods. They’re growing so fast that I’ll need to pot them up before I start hardening them off next week. Whew, spring tasks are flying thick and fast!
This year’s growing lights have proven vastly superior and already the $1k investment has saved me hundreds in starts that I’ve been able to trade for dirt, labor, advice, and goodwill. All around a very good investment.
