I am grateful for every medical study that comes out and reminds us that at least a little coffee every day is good for the human body and brain.
I am also grateful to have a delicious local coffee roaster called Tony’s who ships us five pounds of their espresso beans. Locally-roasted bean water is next freaking level, and having it show up on the doorstep is some serious deep magic.
I wonder often whether the first cup of coffee in the morning is working on me in a physical way, or if it’s all psychosomatic. It’s certainly not a “normal morning” if I don’t get my Tony’s Americano in my trusty swag mug from work. And a huge part of my brain waking up occurs before I’ve even touched a sip, while the warm brown smell of fresh-brewed espresso rises up with the steam from the mug, and I stand on Gizmo’s favorite rug and lean close to the silver machine.
It’s the ritual for me.
